WW2 Cased & ID'ed Bronze Star Medal with Citation, 312th Medical Battalion, 87th Infantry Division (Germany, 1945)

An original WW2 ID'ed cased Bronze Star medal with Citation. The medal comes in its original case of issue together with its ribbon bar. The medal comes with a slot brooch mechanism and its original ribbon, indicating production during WW2. The Bronze Star is ID'ed and awarded to Benny I. Tuzinski (33140321). Tuzinski was a Technician 5th Grade with Company B of the 312th Medical Battalion of the 87th Infantry Division. The set comes with the original citation for Tuzinskis Bronze Star and notes that he received his Bronze Star for:
"For meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States in Germany. From 27 February to 27 April 1945. During that period Technician 5th Grade Tuzinski performed his duties as an Ambulance Driver in a superior manner. Near Roth, Germany, on 27 February 1945. After having been on duty all day, he volunteerd to drive his ambulance to an advanced aid station to evacuate 34 seriously wounded battle casualties. He volunteerd for this mission, knowing that the route to the forward position was under heavy enemy artillery and sniper fire. Technician Fifth Grade Tuzinski continued this evacuation troughout the night and all the next day, working 40 hours without relief. His untiring efforts, outstanding efficiency and loyal devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army."
