An original complete and named WW2 cased Silver Star medal with Oak Leaf. The medal comes in its original case (which is in used condition and missing some parts inside) of issue together with its ribbon bar, lapel pin and 102d Infantry Division patch. The medal comes with a slot brooch mechanism and its original ribbon, indicating production during WW2. The Silver Star is named and government engraved with "Robert B. Dexter". Dexter was a Captain with A Company of the 406th Infantry Regiment of the 102nd Infantry Division. Dexter received this Silver Star with Oak Leaf for actions between 17th and 20th of November 1945 in the area of Apweiler and Gereonsweiler, Germany. Dexter is a highly decorated soldier, during his service in the ETO Dexter received, 2x Purple Hearts, 2x Bronze Stars, 2x Silver Stars and 1x Distinguished Service Cross. Great interesting historical set in good condition! No repairs, no damage.
